The American Heart Association was recognized for their partnership with Spicer Elementary. The Association awarded a class set of CPR mannequins to allow the school to teach fourth grade students hands-on CPR and fifth grade students CPR with no breaths.
Summary of Actions

Approved the donations from:
- Birdville Education Foundation to 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾; and
- HoffmanTrust to 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾’s Health Services Department.
Approved the 2024–25 ad valorem tax rate of $1.1983 per $100 valuation. The maintenance and operations (M&O) portion of the tax rate is $0.7869 per $100 valuation. The portion to pay the debt service (I&S) is $0.4114. The M&O and I&S rates are decreasing from the 2023-24 tax year.
Adopted a resolution calling for prepayment of a portion of the Birdville ISD Unlimited Tax School Building Bonds, Series 2015-A. This prepayment will save taxpayers more than $3.745 million in interest payments. Since 2014, the Board has approved prepayments of $28.98 million of bond principal saving taxpayers more than $20.2 million in interest payments.
Adopted a resolution calling for refunding bonds of the Birdville ISD Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2024. This refunding will save taxpayers more than $8.9?million in interest payments.
Approved the resolution recognizing 4-H as an approved extracurricular activity. Laura Miller, Brittany Meyer, Jacklyn Jones-Doyle, Alaina Woolsey, Christa DeStefano-Malik, Jordan Peldyak, Amanda Salinas, and Kate Marshall will be the adjunct staff members.

THE BOARD MET IN SPECIAL SESSION on Aug. 22 and took the following action:
Approved the order calling a bond election. The single-proposition bond election will be held on Nov. 5. School property tax rates will not increase as a result of this bond proposal.
