Student Recognitions

  • Special Olympics students  

    Eight 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ Special Olympians and two Unified Partner Olympians were recognized for their efforts at the state Special Olympics Track Meet in San Antonio. They were: Nick Hidrogo, Ivan Dunlap, Shakeb Syed, Delaney Roberts, Brittany Gallegos, Alan Marquez, Andy Marquez, and Daniko Flores. 

     

    Lily Abele and Riley Ray (not pictured), North Ridge Middle School students, were recognized for their poems being selected for the 2023 Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum’s “Every Child Has a Name” legacy project. 

     

Summary of Actions

  • Approved the donations from:? 

    • IN2 Architecture to 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾; and  

    • Image Learning to 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾. 

    Approved employee compensation including: 

    • $61,000 starting teacher pay; 
    • a four percent of midpoint raise for teachers, nurses and librarians; 
    • a three percent of midpoint raise for all other staff; and 
    • increased bilingual and specific special education stipends.
    • Updated salary information will be posted on the District’s website in July.  

    Approved the 2022–23 General Fund, Debt Service Fund and Child Nutrition Fund Revised Budgets.  

    Approved the 2023–24 Accelerated Instruction Budget.

    Adopted the Government Accounting Standard Board (GASB) 54 fund balance policies. 

    Approved the property swap amendment with the city of North Richland Hills. 

    Approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP). 

    Approved the associate superintendent of finance and auxiliary services or similarly titled District position to calculate the District tax rate and provide the required information for the appraisal district website. 

    Approved the resolution for self-certification of increased micro-purchase threshold.? 

    Approved the contract to utilize Davis-Bacon prevailing wages. 

    Approved the design development phase for the turf fields and press boxes. 

    Approved the design development phase for the courtyard renovations at Birdville High School. 

    Approved the design development phase for renovations at Haltom High School. 

    Approved budget amendments.

  • A public hearing was conducted on the 2023–24 budget and tax rate. 

    A public hearing was conducted on the State Compensatory Education.

Bids/Contracts/Final Payments Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for: 

    • Mandated phonics curriculum for kindergarten and first grade from 95 Percent Group; 
    • A refrigerated truck for Child Nutrition Services from Industrial Power Truck; and
    • Fine Arts contracted services from multiple vendors. 

    Approved the contract with: 

    • IN2 Architecture for completion of the Plaza Building 100 project (amendment); 
    • Property Casualty Alliance of Texas for liability, auto and property insurance;
    • Workers’ Compensation Solutions for workers’ compensation insurance;
    • Education Service Center (ESC) Region 11 Contracted services and Master Interlocal Agreement for 2023–24;
    • MSB Consulting Group for Medicaid medical consultation and billing; and
    • Multi-region Purchasing Cooperative for Child Nutrition Services supplies from multiple vendors. 

    Approved the addendum to the External Auditor Engagement Letter Agreement.

    Approved the contract amendments with: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds)

    • Lee Lewis Construction Inc. CMAR; and 
    • FCG, LLC.
