    Business Recognition

    College Hills Church of Christ was recognized as a business partner with Holiday Heights Elementary. The church provides snacks for students, volunteers at various events, donates clothes for students in need, and supports and encourages the staff. 

Student Recognitions

  • Richland High Boys Basketball

    Richland High School’s boys basketball team and Coach Danny Henderson were recognized for the team winning first place in District 7-5A.   

    Birdville High Wrestling Team

    Birdville High School’s wrestlers were recognized for their accomplishments at the district, region and state levels. 

    • Valeria Hernandez Acevedo: District Runner-Up, the first BHS girl to win a 2-5A Regional Championship, and UIL 5A State Qualifier; 
    • Livier Dubon: 5-5A District Runner-Up, 2-5A Regional Runner- Up, and UIL 5A State Qualifier; 
    • Robin Conkle: Placed at 5-5A District, placed at 2-5A Regional, and UIL 5A State Qualifier as a freshman; and 
    • Nisa Rogers: 5-5A District Champion, placed at 2-5A Regional, and UIL 5A State Qualifier (finished in the top eight as a freshman). 

    Birdville High School Wrestlers

    Haltom High School’s wrestlers were recognized for their accomplishments at the district, region and state levels. 

    • Carla Campos: 4-6A District Champion, 1-6A Regional Bronze Medalist, and sixth place at UIL State Tournament;  
    • Ryder Clark: 4-6A District Champion, UIL State Alternate; and 
    • Nesma Saadalla: 4-6A District Runner-Up, UIL State Alternate.

  • Approved the donation from: 

    • Hellas Construction to 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ Athletics; 
    • Skeeter Kell Sporting Goods to 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ Athletics; 
    • Education Advanced to 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾ Counseling Services;
    • HKS Architects to 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾’s Teacher of the Year Gala; and
    • BELFOR USA Group to 91ÊÓƵ³ÉÈËÍøÕ¾’s Teacher of the Year Gala. 

    Approved the design development phase of Mullendore Elementary. 

    Approved the amendment to the 2022–23 instructional calendar to reflect the missed days due to winter closings. 

    Approved budget amendments. 

    Cast votes for Rod Townsend, Place 2, and Dr. Jay Thompson, Place 5 for the Education Service Center, Region 11 board of directors.

Bids/Contracts/Final Payments Awarded

  • Approved the bids/purchases for: 

    • Advanced Placement (AP ®) tests from College Board Advanced Placement®; and
    • Prekindergarten and ECSE furniture from Indeco Sales, Inc. 

    Approved the contract for:

    • Weaver and Tidwell, LLP to perform the District’s annual audit. 

     Approved the bid/purchase for: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds) 

    • Buses from Thomas Bus Gulf Coast GP, Inc. 

     Approved the contract for: (Funds come from Bond 2022 funds) 

    • Summer move of bond elementary schools from Move Solutions; and 
    • Professional services agreement amendment with FCG, LLC. 

    Approved the payment to BELFOR Property Restoration for flood damages and the related budget amendment.   

Future Board Meeting

  • Thursday, April 27, 2023, Regular Board Meeting, open session at 7 p.m., Boardroom. 

Special Session

  • THE BOARD MET IN SPECIAL SESSION on March 8 and took the following action: 

    Approved the order of cancellation of the 2023 Birdville ISD board of trustees general election. Trustees Joe Tolbert and Kelvin Dilks were unopposed.
